DOLPHIN ENCOUNTER

Dolphins enjoy socializing and playing. They have been seen playing with small objects and with other dolphins. They play with seaweed or with other members of the pod. Sometimes, they will tease other living creatures in the water.

Bottlenose Dolphins – Bottlenose dolphins are well known for their agility and playful behavior, making them a favorite of wildlife watchers. Many species will leap out of the water, spy-hop and follow ships, often synchronizing their movements with one another. Scientists believe that dolphins conserve energy by swimming alongside boats, a practice known as bow-riding. Bottlenose dolphins are also known to play with humans.

Spinner dolphinSpinner dolphins are medium-sized dolphins with long, slender beaks. Coloration varies depending on where they live. They often have a striped appearance with a dark gray back, gray flanks and white underside. Spinner dolphins were named for their unique behavior of leaping and spinning. These spins can involve more than 4 body revolutions. They live in tropical waters that are deep, and they occur in all oceans which have a tropical temperature that best suited for them.
